Calcium Carbonate uses include: ACIDITY REGULATION - Calcium Carbonate can be used to regulate the acidity or alkalinity of foods such as fruit juices, pastes and preserves. RAISING AGENT - Calcium Carbonates are effective raising agents and pH regulators for baked products. Calcium carbonate leavens baked goods by reacting with acids to produce CO2, which causes your mixture to rise. It is particularly effective in cakes. THICKENER AND BULKING AGENT: Calcium Carbonates are effective bulking agents and thickeners, used to increase viscosity in a wide range of applications such as baked products.

• •Our food grade Calcium Carbonate in powder form can be used in a wide range of applications. Use it to regulate the acidity or alkalinity of beverages. Use it as a raising agent, pH regulator, bulking agent, and thickener for your baked products. Or use it to increase your daily intake of calcium. Calcium Carbonate is also known as chalk or limestone.
• •WINEMAKING & BREWING: Use Calcium Carbonate to lower the acidity (increase pH) in your wine or brewing/distilling mash. Add 1/2 tsp prior to fermentation to lower acidity ~0.1%. 1 gram per gallon adds 106 ppm calcium and 158 ppm carbonate.
• •BAKING: Use it to adjust the acidity of the baking ingredients. It can act as a food preservative and color retainer. Dosage varies, but typically add 0.1 - 2.0% by weight to the dry ingredients.
