With the bottle lid unscrewed (so you can put your drink in), insert the drinking tube into the bottle and screw the cap on the tube onto the top of the lid. The included clothing clip can be attached for additional support of the drinking tube. One of the Giraffe Bottle's unique features is the inclusion of a bite valve. With the bite valve in place, your drink won't retreat back into the bottle after taking a sip. Keeping liquid primed and at-the-ready makes staying hydrated a breeze. The bite valve also allows you to control the flow, and when you're not taking a drink, liquid won't leak out. If the bite valve isn't necessary for your application then simply remove it - it's that easy! The Giraffe Bottle Journey is a complete hydration solution built specifically for those with assistive needs. Whether it be multiple sclerosis, recovery from surgery, or any other mobility problem, the Giraffe Bottle provides a functional hydration solution that is uniquely fun to use. Bottle Holders are available separately. The Giraffe Bottle's plastic neck assembly is flexible, durable, and dependable. Plus, the length can be adjusted to fit an exact need. It is important to remember that the height of the bite valve relative to the bottle dictates how much suction is needed to take a sip. • If the bottle is a couple feet lower than the bite valve, more suction is required - the liquid is being drawn up against gravity for the height of the straw. • If the bottle is at about the same level as the bite valve, taking a sip will require little suction. • If the bottle is higher than the bite valve, no suction is required - once the bite valve is bitten, water will flow freely, siphoning out of the bottle, until the bite valve is closed. Keep this in mind when setting up your Journey. Other tips: • The Giraffe Bottle should be cleaned before each use. • The bottle lid and lid gasket are dishwasher-safe. Hand-wash the bottle and drinking tube in warm soapy water using the included tube brush and bottle brush. Soak check valve in warm-soapy water and rinse. • We recommend the drinking tube and bite valve be replaced every month if used daily.
