This partial oxidation is what gives oolongs the unique, alluring characteristics that many tea drinkers know and love. The best oolong tea is typically grown and cultivated in cool, lush climates, such as the Fujian Province of China. After hand-plucking, partial oxidation allows oolong’s flavor profile to be incredibly diverse. Oolong tea can be light-bodied and grassy like green tea or rich and nutty like black tea.
